East Central Florida Childhood Obesity Consortium

Mission Statement:

To ensure children living in East Central Florida have healthy lifestyles that eliminate their risk for childhood obesity.

Consortium Goal:

Prevent childhood obesity through collaborative community action that fosters necessary social change in the East Central Florida Region.

Consortium Objectives

Design a web-based networking/communication portal that will provide access to community resources, research, and data related to the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
Disseminate a consistent social marketing message that provides daily dietary serving information and lifestyle modifications conducive to nutritional and physical well-being goals.
Promote collaboration among stakeholders in order to advance community initiatives that are targeted to prevent or reduce childhood obesity.
Foster connections to all community sectors to identify and address needed policy changes that will support a multi-level educational campaign.
Develop a broad base of funders to sustain consortium efforts in the long term.
Track measureable outcomes to assess program/project effectiveness in order to define best practices.
